NSS unit of our College has been working very efficiently during the session 2017-18 under the guidance of Dr. Madhu Bala (Dept. of Sociology) and Mrs. Punpreet Kaur (Dept. of Commerce). A 7-day NSS camp was held in the College from October 01-07, 2017, in which 89 volunteers took part. The main activities of the 7-day NSS Camp were: -

  • Safety Riding Drive was conducted by Ms Himanshi Arora, Safety Riding Officer, Children's Park.

  • An interactive lecture was delivered by Mr. Veer Bham Gupta, Yoga Teacher, Yog Sadhna Kendra Bharti Yog Sanstha, Ludhiana.

  • A workshop on different techniques of Fabric Painting and Block Painting was conducted during the camp.

  • An interactive lecture on "Personality Development" was delivered by Mrs Preeti Arora.

  • Ms. Lakhwinder Kaur conducted a workshop about Pot Painting and Pot Decoration Techniques.

  • NSS Volunteers visited "Old Age Home" to offer services to old persons and to learn about the health problems faced by them at later stages of life.

  • A Road Rally was organised on the theme of Cleanliness and Water Conservation.

  • Demonstration was given by Mrs. Shikha from Dept. of Home Science on "Quelling and Pudding-making".

  • Demonstration was given by Ms Amrinder Kaur on "Diya-making and Flower Making Techniques".

  • Ms. Sandhaya Goyal, a budding entrepreneur discussed and demonstrated various techniques of jewellery making and gift wrapping.

  • An interactive Lecture cum workshop on Stress Management by Mr. Shiv Kumar from Art of Living, Ludhiana.

  • On Valedictory day, a Craft Exhibition was held by NSS volunteers.
