The Post Graduate Department of English of Guru Nanak Khalsa College for Women, Gujarkhan Campus, Model Town, Ludhiana organized a 3-Day Online Training workshop on 3 T’s of Translation: Training Technique Tales from June 09-11, 2021.
Dr. Rana Nayyar, Professor, Deptt of English & Cultural Studies, PU, Chandigarh was the key speaker of the Inaugural Session. He talked about the various approaches which are used for the process of translation.
Dr. Navjot Deol, Asstt. Prof. Apeejay College, Jalandhar was the resource person of the second day. She gave an insight into the practical problems faced by the students during the process of translation. PPT mode was used by her to make the concepts more clear.
On the last day of the workshop, Dr. Sakoon Singh, Astt. Prof. DAV, Sec-10, Chandigarh was the resource person. Dr. Sakoon Singh illustrated various challenges faced by a translator and apprised the students about the journey of a text from the source to the target language. She also emphasized upon the role of the readers in the process of Translation.
Principal of the college, Maninder Kaur welcomed the resource persons.
The General Secretary of College Governing Body, Er. Gurvinder Singh congratulated the students for their efforts and stressed upon the need to express oneself through the medium of language.
It was indeed an enlightening and learning experience for all.
